Heeb Magazine has a nice Ghostbuster 3 question that they ask of Harold Ramis. As Jay will often point out, I missed my chance to talk to Dan Akroyd when he was promoting his vodka over the summer, but that does not mean that I am any less of a Ghostbuster fan. I actually think that Ghostbusters is one of the few movies that I have watched over 10 times in my lifetime. So I want to know what the heck is going on with the release of the next movie. Also Heeb has a bunch of other questions so make sure to check out the whole article.
Something’s going to happen. Dan [Aykroyd] did write a spec GB3screenplay a few years ago, but no one was motivated to pursue it. Now, 25 years after the original, there seems to be some willingness to proceed and apparently a substantial public appetite for a sequel. We’ll introduce some new young Ghostbusters, and all the old guys will be in it, too. Think Christopher Lloyd in Back to the Future … GB3is progressing with plans to shoot next summer and release in 2011 … Oh, and I have two one-of-a-kind Ghostbuster yarmulkes sent by fans.
It seems that this is actually going to happen, but I reserve the right to actually believe in it until I see some concrete evidence. Ramis should be playing an actually role in the film and producing, but what that role will be is actually unknown at this point. It is so tough to believe how long is has been since the original Ghostbusters was shown in theaters.
