Just some catch-up for some tv news from yesterday, because January seems to be the month of J.J. Abrams’ Undercovers casting announcements. Joining the 2010 parade for the NBC show is Carter MacIntyre, who will play a CIA agent that THR describes as having a “drinking problem” and “who goes missing while trailing a Russian arms dealer.” MacIntyre joins the other additions that the New Year has brought, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Ben Schwartz, and Jessica Parker Kennedy.
Carter MacIntyre has previously had one-off roles in shows like Bones, Nip/Tuck, The Mentalist, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and ER among several other projects including essentially the entire run of American Heiress. I’m not sure larg of a role it would be as the report with the casting of Jessica Parker indicated that she was the last of the ‘core’ cast. Along with the the already mentioned January newcomers, MacIntyre joins Gerald McRaney and Boris Kodjo, both whom were cast last year. The latter and Mbatha-Raw will be the star couple of ex-agents who find themselves activated once more.
Undercovers’ pilot will be directed by Abrams, who teamed up with Josh Reims to write the show.
