Glee isn’t the only show able to grab guest stars by the dozen, and before Jennifer Lopez perhaps appears on the Fox show, she will first stop by CBS’s How I Met Your Mother. Actually, the show has no problems garnering familiar guest stars, coming off a last several months that featured appearances of Amanda Peet, Rachel Bilson, Tim Gunn, Stacy Kiebler–with Carrie Underwood coming up!. Lopez will play “Anita Appleby”, and will appear in March to “break” Barney (Neil Patrick Harris).
After the casting, executive producer/co-creator of the show, Carter Bays, said “We couldn’t be more excited about Jennifer Lopez joining us on How I Met Your Mother”, and “We’re looking forward to a week of revealing outfits and sexy dance moves the likes of which this show hasn’t seen since Regis Philbin guest starred.” In the release, Lopez’s Appleby is described as a no-nonsense author of self-help books that teach women how to train men into relationship machines through the power of denial.
This is the 5th season of How I Met Your Mother – show that recently celebrated it’s 100th episode – stars Josh Radnor, Jason Segel, Cobie Smulders, Neil Patrick Harris and Alyson Hannigan.
