Maggie Grace in Faster

Always like to keep up with my Lost people, and under any circumstances Ms. Maggie Grace has to be a favorite to keep tabs on. Variety is reporting that she’s been cast in Faster, a movie already starring Dwayne Johnson and Billy Bob Thorton, and directed by George Tillman Jr., who was behind films that Soul Food, Men of Honor, and more recently the Biggie biopic Notorious.

The report also indicates that Grace may soon be joined by another BSC-Favorite in Salma Hayek, as the actress is also said to be in negotiations for a role. Faster is described as centering on an ex-con (played by Johnson) “looking to avenge his brother’s murder, who is trailed by a veteran policeman” I’m guessing one either is completely annoyed by the Rock or enjoys his films, and while there are admittedly some pretty forgettable ones in his catalog, I have to admit that I kind of find him to be rather likable and that in an odd way there are films that would be otherwise unwatchable if not for his presence. You add Grace, Hayek and Bill Bob – all actors I enjoy – and Faster looks like a sure bet as DVD Blu Ray watch or me at some point. When the Hayek becomes official we’ll update, and it should be soon with the film starting production next month.

I enjoyed Grace in Pierre Morel’s Taken (2008), in which she starred with Liam Neeson. In August we told you that Grace was attached to Wichita, which is known as Knight and Day, a film starring Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz. Grace will play “April” in that film, which hits theaters this July.
