Last month we brought you the word that Mia Kirshner would be guest starring on CW’s The Vampire Diaries, playing the role of Isobel. She’s the “Sweet but dangerous” wife of Alaric Saltzman (played by Matt Davis). When we announced the news then, we also told you that she was described as having been killed by somebody we have already seen on the show (or rather, at least someone we know). CW has now released a promo images of Mia’s appearance.
Kirshner will appear in the episode via flashbacks, Personally, I’m thinking it’s not the most exciting look at Mia Kirshner imaginable. Her appearance will occur when The Vampire Diaries returns tomorrow (January 21st) from its mid-season break with an episode called “Bloodlines” (we posted a preview last week). Kirshner has previously been on the L Word (or, as I like to call it, the show that apparently breeds future cast members of high profile shows), 24, and De Palma’s The Black Dahlia.
The episode will also give us the first look at another new face on the show, that of Malese Jow (which we told you about last November). She will play “Anna”, a new friend of Jeremy’s (Steven R. McQueen) and will join Gina Torres to kick off the new year of the show. January has already offered up more Vampire Diaries casting news, with Melinda Clarke and Sterling Sulieman entering the Mystic Falls fold in 2010. The Vampire Diaries airs on Thursdays at 8pm. It stars Nina Dobrev, Paul Wesley, and Ian Somerhalder.
