On March 1st, Stan “The Man” Lee will appear on CBS’s The Big Bang Theory according to TV Guide. A bit of a drop off from Danica McKellar and Katee Sackhoff, but a rather good fit considering the nerdular theme of the show (which our own Gerald So reviews each and every week here at BSC!)
The report indicates that Lee (playing himself) will pop up in the gang’s favorite comic book shop. I love the show for highlighting that setting because it gives the general public an idea of where all the unavoidable comics that used to be at every grocery and convenience store now hide. I’ve seen the episode slotted for the date titled as “The Einstein Approximation”, but I’m not sure if that’s still the case.
Does anyone remember when Suge Knight said “To all you artists out there, who don’t wanna be on a record label where the executive producer’s…all up in the videos, all on the records, dancin’…then come to Death Row!” That’s basically my opinion on Stan Lee cameos and appearances at this point. It used to be a quaint and a deserving nod, but now it’s bordering on silly–I felt slightly uncomfortable watching the whole Spike Awards…thing. Land Ditko and then you may have something! The Big Bang Theory stars Johnny Galecki, Jim Parsons, Kaley Cuoco, Simon Helberg and Kunal Nayyar and airs on CBS.

The name of the episode is “The Excelsior Acquisition.”
