Here’s a little something to get Elena and BSC excited–the former because she’s a fan, and the latter because the return of many of the Fall Season’s hits is just around the corner! The show coming off its garnering of the People’s Choice Award for “Best New Drama”, CW’s The Vampire Diaries, is coming back for old school fun, bringing and Pleasantville ambiance with their own “Unpleasantville”. The episode will be the second of the The Vampire Diaries‘ return from its Season One break–a season garnering enthusiastic reviews, including from BSC! The episode will air on January 28th, a week after the kick-off, entitled “Bloodlines” (the 21st for the obvious-immune).
“Unpleasantville” is kicking it ’50s style in a behind-the-scenes image for that made its way online via EW depicting the cast’s themed high school dance. It will be interesting to see if the show is able to maintain its steam, and BSC will be back with the show giving you the week-to-week recap. The Vampire Diaries was one of three shows – along with Melrose Place and One Tree Hill – that CW extended back in September. CW is also debuting new programming this month, including Life Unexpected, which you can get a 4-minute look at.
Back to The Vampire Diaries, this isn’t the first news or look we’ve received regarding the return of the show. We’ve already brought word that we’ll be seeing Malese Jow, the lovely Mia Kirshner, and Firefly’s Gina Torres–an appearance that we already posted promo images of last month! The Vampire Diaries airs on Thursdays at 8pm on the CW, and stars Nina Dobrev, Paul Wesley, and Ian Somerhalder.
