Ugly Betty cancelled by ABC

Ok, I know, I am a day late with this news, but I just found out.  Damn, I was just starting to enjoy this show again.  ABC told Ugly Betty producers that this fourth season will be the last one they will be doing.  At the same time to add some insult to injury they cut the episode order from 22 episodes down to 20.

This is really crappy news even with the bad ratings the show has hit a nice creative stride this season and I have been looking forward to it each week.  They did move it to a death night for a while and I have not really seen a lot of hype for it on the network either.  The good news is that they have given the writers a fair bit of time to bring the show to a close.  That makes me feel a bit better about the news, I always like closure to another season that might end without a proper farewell. 

Does anyone else think that America Ferrera is always going to remind you of Betty when you see her next?  Something about that role and America might make it a bit hard for her to break out of that mold in my opinion.  She did do a killer job with the Betty character.
