We got the teaser trailer last September and beyond that haven’t much talked about the upcoming re-imagining of horror franchise. I saw that some still and a poster were released earlier this week, but it didn’t make the BSC cut (I need minions!) (I think people started getting excited when Jackie Earle Haley signed on, hot off of his role as Rorschach in Zack Snyder’s Watchmen (though the role that stands out to me is in Little Children). We now have a new trailer that debuted via MySpace.
Joining Haley in the Samuel Bayer helmed film are Rooney Mara, Kyle Gallner, Thomas Dekker, Kellan Lutz, Katie Cassidy and Connie Britton. It’s scheduled to hit theaters on April 30 and is a remake/reboot of the original film.
Film Synopsis:
Freddy Krueger (Jackie Earle Haley) returns in “A Nightmare on Elm Street,” a contemporary re-imagining of the horror classic. A group of suburban teenagers share one common bond: they are all being stalked by Freddy Krueger, a horribly disfigured killer who hunts them in their dreams. As long as they stay awake, they can protect one another…but when they sleep, there is no escape.
