As reported over at BSCkids the cover art for the Season 7 runner up on American Idol, David Archuleta has been released. The memoir is titled, Chords of Strength: A Memoir of Soul, Song and the Power of Perseverance and will be available May 4th.
For me, I gave up watching after Season 4 of the show, but did catch bits and pieces of this season as my wife is a huge fan. The thing that got me about Archuleta is that didn’t he already win Star Search? I want to see those never in the spot light kind of people on these types of shows. Anyway, the kid can really sing and it should be an interesting read as he suffered from partial vocal paralysis in 2004 and must have really had to dig deep to get through that.

I am not the kind of person to follow a star, but I have gotten hooked on following David Archuletta and I Have grown to have incredible respect for the musician he is and the person he is. I can’t wait to read this book. As far as star search, not a big deal. Most of these kids had already done lots more than David. He was pretty much of an amateur compared to Cook and others who had performed in bands for years.
I LOVE DAAVIID ARCHULLETAA !
what does he have a new album coming out? im confused
As far as I know, Archuleta didn’t win at the season final competition of the Star Search (the battle of the winners) when the vocal paralysis occurred. At the same time, he was going through puberty, which caused the inevitable voice change. He almost gave up singing because his voice didn’t come out. I want to know what came through his mind at that difficult time, the recovery process and how the adversity made him stronger.
I started paying attention to him because he was the best pitch-perfect singer that I’d ever seen. I also heard that it was NOT his parents who sent the video tape of young Archuleta to the Jenny Jones show that was looking for talented youngsters. It was his aunt who sent the tape and young Archuleta was belting out in his backyard.
David looks mature and handsome on the book cover, much better than the Christmas cd cover which made him look too young. Wonder if he’ll promote his new single and memoir at the same time.
This cover picture shows David as a classy, clean-cut, and seriously HAWT young man! LOL!
His eyes have a depth to them that intrigues me…I can’t wait to read his words. LOVE his singing VOICE…can only imagine what his thoughts are…
This is the most talented singer I’ve heard in years. I just bought his Christmas album. He will be around for years and among the greats. And I’m 72, and it’s almost March and late for Christmas music, and I’m Jewish.
Aww…don’t let that Star Search thing still get in the way of your enjoying this sweet-hearted, talented singer!! Many Idols have some professional musical history, and haven’t just woken up the day before auditions and decided to sing! He’s come so far from Idol days, and is a joy to listen to and see live.
David’s the BEST…talented and hard-working and a decent guy; I have much respect and am a fan for life.
I look forward to reading his story, in his words…as with his music, I expect it will be pure and honest, from his heart and soul.
I heard David Archuleta give a talk and surprisingly he said something that has stuck in my mind and actually really helped me in my life. I went into it thinking what could someone this young possibly have to say that could be of benefit to me? I came out feeling great. I think I will buy this book.
I too have so much respect for this guy! To be so humble and grounded AND actually be so talented! Wow this is a rarity!
