Didn’t your mother tell you that rumors were a bad thing? Well the rumors that have been making their way around the internet that Final Fantasy XI by Square Enix will be ending this year are not true right now. I think these rumors get started because of the upcoming Final Fantasy XIV game, but you know EQ and EQ2 both ran at the same time.
Anyway, Yoichi Wada from Square Enix jumped on his Twitter account and told everyone “There seems to be a rumor that FFXI is ending, but if that was done, we’d be in trouble.” At the end of that we had a nice grimacing face emoticon.
We know things can not last forever, but isn’t that why people create emulations? Well, that is if the gaming company does not shut them down. Also based on past MMORPG games, they usually just consolidate servers until they need minimal resources to keep the game running, so the people that want to play can play.
