Disney has released our first look at Jeff bridges in Tron Legacy, a film zooming at us on December 17th, continuing the sweetness that was the ’82 film. Tron for Christmas–how ill is it to be able to say that! Plus, they have Jeff Bridges back as Kevin Flynn/Clu, and all he does is collect nominations and awards (lately for Crazy Heart). Not excited? Then you didn’t see this inconceivably awesome video from last summer. Not only that, but they got my boy from Scarecrow and Mrs. King in Bruce Boxleitner back, and the on-screen heat of Oilvia Wilde (who I saw recently in a GQ Italia shoot–awesome).
Since that Summer trailer we’ve seen some promo images released, including a look at the ride from December, and a poster and (very cool) image from earlier in the month. Also in the cast are Garrett Hedlund, Michael Sheen (who was added in July), Beau Garrett, and John Hurt.
Film Synopsis – “Tron Legacy” is a 3D high-tech adventure set in a digital world that’s unlike anything ever captured on the big screen. Sam Flynn (Garrett Hedlund), the tech-savvy 27-year-old son of Kevin Flynn (Jeff Bridges), looks into his father’s disappearance and finds himself pulled into the same world of fierce programs and gladiatorial games where his father has been living for 25 years. Along with Kevin’s loyal confidant (Olivia Wilde), father and son embark on a life-and-death journey across a visually-stunning cyber universe that has become far more advanced and exceedingly dangerous.
