All Damon could talk about when Prep and Landing was coming out during last holiday season was Sarah Chalke (BTW–we interviewed Derek Richardson for that show at BSCkids), and now it looks like he will have more reason to talk (and be generally merry), as the Scrubs star is reportedly set to be in the pilot of Freshmen, a show produced by Arianna Huffington and Greg Malins (he of How I Met Your Mother–who also wrote the script). Freshmen is an upcoming ABC show, and described as a comedy.
Chalke will play “Jane”, one of three politicians who live together in Washington D.C., the other two being men. This is most convenient, because according to THR’s report, Jane is “smart and funny freshman Congresswoman who was the VP at a multi-billion dollar company when she was just 28, and who won her district with the largest margin of any candidate since 1977.” Why convenient? Because she’s apparently gangster when it comes to everything but men. The two male leads have as of yet not been announced.
Chalke played Dr. Elliot Reid on Scrubs for 8 seasons, and actually more recently worked with Malin on How I Met You Mother, playing the role of Stella Zinman for an arc. I have to admit that when Damon mentioned her name I had no idea who she was, but now that I’m looking at an image, it’s my damn girl from Roseanne–what’s up Becky!
