That’s where we are out now, Super Bowl spot, before the Superbowl. Maybe they should be Pro-Bowl spots (though nobody would see them unless it came with a free trip to Hawaii) We’ve actually got quite a few looks at this forthcoming Scorsese film based on the Dennis Lehane’s 2003 novel, perhaps because this movie’s release was pushed back (I believe I read to a more opportune times to spend on an Oscar push). One of the trailers has since been pulled, but we got this look in December and another last summer. The film stars Leonardo Dicaprio (because it’s a Scorsese film!) in a damn good looking cast that also features Mark Ruffalo, Ben Kingsley, Michelle Williams, Max von Sydow, Patricia Clarkson, Emily Mortimer and Jackie Earle Haley.
I love when Shutter Island news comes out because I can relink to Japanese glory in the form of this sweet one-sheet for the film, which is much hotter than the other ones we’ve seen. Shutter Island hits theaters on February 19th, 2010.
Film Synopsis: Mark Ruffalo and Leonardo DiCaprio team up as a pair of U.S. Marshals who travel to a secluded island off the coast of Massachusetts to search for an escaped mental patient, uncovering a web of deception along the way as they battle the forces of nature and a prison riot in this Martin Scorsese-helmed period picture. Laeta Kalogridis adapts Dennis Lehane’s novel of the same name, with Paramount Pictures and Columbia Pictures splitting production and distribution duties. Ben Kingsley co-stars as the head of the institution where the patient resided, while Michelle Williams portrays Leonardo DiCaprio’s deceased wife, whose memory haunts him during the investigation. Max von Sydow, Emily Mortimer, Michelle Williams, Patricia Clarkson, and Jackie Earle Haley round out the supporting cast.
The BSC Kill Krew seems to love Lehane’s books (check out reviews we have in our Lehane file), so you may want to check out the novel while you’re waiting.
