New promo images/wallpaper from Paramount for M. Night Shyamalan’s big screen adaptation of (Avatar) The Last Airbender. You can put this one, which features Suki (Jessica Andres), Sokka (Jackson Rathbone) and Katara (Nicola Peltz), next to the character posters we got about a week ago that gave us Noah Ringer’s Aang and Dev Patel’s Zuko. The choice in casting has been a point of BSC’s most passionate discussion, so I’m glad we have more opportunities to show the characters (and add fuel!). We also posted images from December that were in the pages of Empire.
Casting and race aside, I thought that the teaser trailer from last summer was pretty ill (please note that I’m completely unfamiliar with the property), and from the standpoint of just a moviegoer who hasn’t and probably won’t follow the franchise into other mediums, that actually might be a good thing. No attachments. The Last Airbender is scheduled for a July 10th release.
