Naughty Dog, developers behind the 2009 Game of the Year – Uncharted 2: Among Thieves – is dishing out a 100% Daily Value dose of DLC coming to a PS3 near you on February 25, 2010.

New skins, new multiplayer maps, and new Trophies, all centered around the first game, Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune. That’s right, Naughty Dog’s multiplayer guru, Justin Richmond, stated that they have been working on this massive update since the end of the first game.
Regarding the dozen new Trophies, Richmond added that they wanted anyone to be able to get the Platinum Trophy at launch. For me, this is a great decision because I hate Trophies based on multiplayer or co-op aspects. Playing through single-player at your own pace to get rewards is one thing, but having Trophies in multi-player typically means the Platinum is fiendishly difficult, if not impossible to get for casual gamers.
The new Trophy list is as follows:
-
Cold-blooded – Get 2,500 kills in Deathmatch or Elimination games
-
Sneaky – Get 50 Stealth kills
-
Tastes Like Chicken – Get 20 BBQ Medals
-
Brass Knuckles – Get 100 Melee kills
-
Rapid Fire – Get 7 Tripled Medals in Deathmatch
-
Gold Digger – Finish Wave 10 in one Gold Rush game
-
Made It – Finish Wave 10 in one Survival Game
-
Wipe Them Out – Win 50 Deathmatch Games
-
Still Alive – Win 50 Elimination Games
-
Plays Well With Others – Win 50 Objective Games
-
I Told You I Was Hardcore! – Complete all 3 co-op Objective maps on hard difficulty
-
Plundered – Get 200 Captured Medals
Six new multiplayer skins from the first game are coming, too. Now you’ll be able to play as Drake, Elena, Atoq Navarro, Eddie Raja, Gabriel Roman, and Javier (pirate). The first skin pack included those from some of Sony’s most popular IPs, such as Resistance and Infamous, but this new pack is completely Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune-centric.
The two new maps include The Flooded Ruins during a lightning storm and the submarine pen known as The Facility. Cranes move crates around the rusted U-boat, which should prove an interesting dynamic component in the way the map is played.
You can get all this in one bundle for $5.99, or $2.99 for just the skins and $3.99 for the maps. $6.00 for everything is a great and fair price – two maps, six skins, 12 new Trophies, and 12 in-game Medals (non-Trophy related). Prices for the content are U.S. only, as they haven’t been announced for other regions.
