On the heels of announcing Super Mario Galaxy 2′s release date, Nintendo announced another stellar title from their bottemless coffer of money-making titles: Metroid: Other M. That’s right, another Metroid title from the Big N. Delving further into the story of Samus Aran’s space-hopping, bounty-hunting tales, the trio of developers – Nintendo, Team Ninja, and D-Rocket – hope that the combination of 2-D and 3-D elements shroud the title in hype-generating mystery. And it is, at least for now.
But fear not, Nintendo-ites. Metroid: Other M will be released in North America on June 27, 2010. Combine this with other titles like Sin and Punishment: Star Successor and the aforementioned Super Mario Galaxy 2, and you’ve got an equally expensive first half of 2010 lining up! About time, Nintendo. You know the company is feeling the pressure when they pull Mario and Samus out of the vault.

Mario was in the vault? Didn’t the Wii get two new Mario games just a couple months ago? Granted neither of them are even remotely like Galaxy.
That was his evil two-dimensional twin, yes.
This “Other Mario” – hmm, is that what “Other M” means in Metroid? – plagues such titles as Mario Kart, Mario Tennis, Mario All-Stars, Mario Ninja, and Mario Party…wait, scratch the Ninja one.
The real Mario has been hiding in the vault since Galaxy 1. But he’s back!
