When you get your copy of God of War III next week and pop it into your PS3, realize one thing: You’re partaking in a $44 million pie.
According to John Hight at Sony Santa Monica Studios, God of War III cost a whopping $44 million to create. Compare this with the $15-30 million average game development cost these days, and you can see that Sony spared no expense to bring Kratos to the PS3.
Food for thought: Gran Turismo 5′s reported budget is upwards of $60 million. This puts even the mighty Kratos to shame. That’s proof that making a human character move perfectly costs much more than several hundred automobiles.
