If you saw the recent launch of Lady Gaga’s much anticipated video (also see some stills we posted) for her song “Telephone”, a 9-minute mini-featurette extravaganza that gives nods to several sources – including the film work of Quentin Tarantino – you might not be completely surprised that the academy award winning writer/director/awesome incarnate has taken notice. More than that, MTV UK is reporting that he has talked to Gaga about being in a future film.
“Telephone”, which also features Beyonce, utilizes “Pussy Wagon” from Tarantino’s Kill Bill. This would be the first film we see Lady Gaga in, though she has made it to the small screen, guest starring on CW’s Gossip Girl. She’s also recently began her conquest of gaming consoles. Take this for what it’s worth as MTV is quoting one of those notorious “sources close to” Tarantino:
“Quentin is a huge fan of GaGa and loves her whole personality. He has already sounded her out on a couple of projects, one of which would see her playing an assassin.”
“Movies would be a huge new venture for GaGa but she’s excited at the prospect and Quentin has told her she’d be a natural.”
I think even detractors will admit that Tarantino knows how to cast, as this Oscar season once again proved.
