Summer Glau dons The Cape on NBC

Never mad to see any Firefly alumni on TV, and that goes double for Summer Glau, who I saw last in Dollhouse. Unfortunately, networks don’t seem to agree, always giving my girl River the boot. Luckily, she’s never gone for too long, and once again she’s back on her feet at a NBC drama pilot.

The Cape stars David Lyons, an ex-cop who dons a secret identity to clear his name. More importantly, Glau herself will play “Orwell”, and if looking at the description of her character offered up by THR:

…a cute and intrepid investigative blogger named Orwell who bravely exposes corruption and costumed bad guys.

The character is also capable of getting physical and “kicking ass”.

..she seems awfully qualified, having not only gone down that route before, but more of a permanent resident on that street. Joining Lyons and Glau is James Frain (Thomas Cromwell ins Showtime’s The Tudors), who is set to play the show’s antagonist.
