Getting to that point where tomorrow it’s going to be Scorsce, Cameron, and Tarantino attached to Twilight Breaking Dawn, right? Earlier this month we got a taste of the high profile directors that Summit might have reached out to to helm the forth (and possibly 5th) chapter of Twilight Saga’s film franchise. Then it was names like Sofia Coppola, Gus Van Sant, and Bill Condon’s being thrown around (with Vant Sant confirming he had been contacted–a choice Robert Pattinson earlier said he would very much approve of). Now the La Times is reporting that Stephen Daldry, the three-time Academy Award nominated director, may now also be under consideration.
Most recently, people may know of Daldrey through The Reader, which somehow earned Kate Winslet an academy award (don’t get me wrong, I think she’s amazing – she should have one for Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind – but this seemed like an odd choice to me that year.) Daldrey was nominated for Best Director, just like he had been for The Hours and Billy Elliot. If nothing else, this is a great way to keep Breaking Dawn (and thus Twilight) in the news on an entirely different platform (of respectability?), even when Eclipse isn’t even out yet. Indeed, the only misstep they’ve made in promotion is not working directly with the BSC Empire–but nobody is perfect!
This is probably going beyond what is necessary, but noting his work it should be noted that Daldrey has made quality films adapted from novels, once also being tapped to helm an adaptation of Michael Chabon’s wonderful novel,The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay.
I wonder who the Twilighters prefer?

The only person qualified to direct the movie is David Lynch. He would put someone performing a c-section WITH HIS TEETH in a movie just because, AND he specializes in nonsensical narratives. WHICH THIS WAS.
I couldnt agree more!!!
