There’s some talent in the cast for sure, but for some reason Salt has failed to make itself a movie that I remain aware of, as I’d forgotten about it even tough we posted the first trailer and poster back in November. Unlike a lot of people (or at least what a lot of people choose to say online), I dig some Jolie, and it’s hard to dismiss a movie that has a cast that also includes Liev Schreiber and Chiwetel Ejior.
Salt is directed by Phillip Noyce (Patriot Games, Clear and Present Danger, The Saint) and hits heaters on July 23rd.
Film Synopsis – As a CIA officer, Evelyn Salt swore an oath to duty, honor and country. Her loyalty will be tested when a defector accuses her of being a Russian spy. Salt goes on the run, using all her skills and years of experience as a covert operative to elude capture. Salt’s efforts to prove her innocence only serve to cast doubt on her motives, as the hunt to uncover the truth behind her identity continues and the question remains: “Who is Salt?”
