Yahoo has just debuted our first official look at Thor! As we told you back in May, the God of Thunder is will be played by Chris Hemsworth, and will be presented to us by director Kenneth Branagh. After Iron Man 2 hits early next month, Thor is the next Avenger lined up for the very suave and thus far well constructed and thought out Marvel film universe. Looks a lot less ridiculous than I thought it could look, but I actually have a lot of faith in this movie because of the sensibilities that we’ve seen in Branagh’s previous films.
Branagh has been busy grabbing BSC favorites like Natlie Portman, Kat Dennings, and Idris Alba to his cast (yes, being on The Wire gives you the same consideration as being smokin’). Playing the trickster god Loki will be Tom Hiddleston in a cast that also includes Anthony Hopkins, Stellan Skarsgard, Rene Russo, Jaimie Alexander and Colm Feore. The last time we actually talked about Thor here at BSC, we were talking about Stuart Townsend’s departure back in January.
Now all we need is to see Mjolnir!
