Short and sweet as this has to be filed under rumor, and a slim one at best, but E! Online is reporting that it’s a possibility that Twilight star Kristen Stewart is a desired possible replacement for Angelina Jolie, who had recently dropped out of the project. Wanted 2 (see our review of Wanted), directed by Timur Bekmambetov, would replace Jolie’s ‘Fox’, an easy-on-the-eyes assassin. Back is James McAvoy’s Wesley Gibson, the star of the comic book series by Mark Millar (Kick-Ass) and J.G. Jones (a personal favorite artist of mine–going back to DEFIANT).
Stewart’s schedule may be an issue as Breaking Dawn, the fourth chapter of the Twilight series begins filming later this year, but it would at least be interesting to see Stewart take what seems to be a vastly different role that an action film allows for.
