HBO keeps adding to the True Blood cast – more for Elena to cover next season! – loading up for the Season 3 debut on June 13th. According to EW, Lauren Bowles (who let em tell you, doesn’t have a lot of photos online to choose from) has been cast in the recurring role of ‘Holly”, a new waitress in Merlotte’s.
The casting call for the character read like this:
A thirtysomething (presumably single) mother of two, Holly applies for a job at Merlotte’s and creeps Arlene out with her oddly prescient observations. Very strong recurring in season 3 with a possible series regular upgrade in season 4.
I’m honestly not familiar with Bowles because the show’s she has appeared in (Rita Rocks and The New Adventures of Old Christine) don’t air here–was she on a Seinfeld for an episode? This week has already brought us news of a True Blood comic book coming from IDW and this preview & poster for season 3.
Lauren Bowles is just the latest of the new faces added by Alan Ball and company, joining the already announced Brit Morgan Lindsay Pulsipher, Joe Manganiello, Cooper Huckabee, Alfre Woodward, James Frain, J. Smith-Cameron, Theo Alexander, Shannon Lucio, Kevin Alejandro, Marshall Allman and Denis O’Hare.
