We told you last week that Rihanna (though we got the song wrong) would be appearing on American Idol, performing during the Beatles’ theme week (though she performed from her own catalog). Rihanna rather aptly rocked out the show with “Rockstar 101″. As I said previously, this episode doesn’t air until tonight for us, but you can’t doubt that Rihanna brought the energy (dare I say, perhaps even thunder) on her performance in this elimination episode. A couple of days ago we told you that Rihanna will be hitting the road starting on July 2nd to support her latest album, Rated R. She will be supported on the tour by Ke$ha and Nicki Minaj. Also…got to dig the fashion. BSC-approved.

Absolutely ADORE this song, fantastic guitar from Slash. But, unfortunately, the performance wasn’t exactly GREAT now was it? If this is the first time people hear the song, I doubt it will stick in their heads – the powerful guitar and strong vocals are what make it good, yet they were pretty much vacant from the performance.
