UPDATE - Trailer removed upon the request of scary people. Sorry!
Just yesterday we reported on Twilight actress Ashley Greene’s stunning pre-production portrait, which was posted by Twilight Saga: Eclipse director David Slade via TwitPic. Greene is in the news again, adding now to her on-screen resume. In addition to her film Warrior, which reunited her with her Twilight co-star and friend, beefcake Kellan Lutz, (now in the pre-production stages) and the buzz-worthy news that Greene is joining the cast of Scream 4, we learn she has co-stared in a film called Skateland.
In similar spirit as the Drew Barrymore/ Ellen Page project, Whip It, Skateland is a nostalgic coming of age tale ripe with romance and hip tunes. It is set in the 80′s and it’s focus is upon Greene’s male co-star Shiloh Fernandez. Greene plays his love interest.
Fernandez is a little known television actor whose popularity is set to climb. He was a favorite not so long ago for the part of Edward Cullen in Twilight before the role went to Robert Pattinson. In fact, Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke plucked up Fernandez to star in her upcoming gothic/ horror re-telling of the classic fairytale, called The Girl with the Red Riding Hood. Fernandez, who looks like a young Joaquin Phoenix, will be the romantic lead in the film opposite Amanda Seyfried (Letters to Juliet, Dear John) who has the title role as a woman living in a medieval town plagued be werewolves. See our Red Riding Hood story from March.
Skateland played at the Seattle International Film Festival yesterday. Ashley Green can be seen in Twilight Saga: Eclipse starting June 30th. You can watch her as Alice Cullen in this Eclipse TV teaser.
