Crystal Bowersox – ‘Up to the Mountain’ on American Idol Final

The American Idol finale went down yesterday with Crystal Bowersox and Lee Dewyze battling out for top honors, with the initial buzz/word being one of them stomped the other (airs for me later today), though we won’t find out what the mob thinks until tonight. Both Crystal and Lee performed three songs, the former going with ‘Black Velvet’, Joplin’s ‘Me and Bobby McGee’, and the folky ‘Up to the Mountain’ (video below). Dewyze went with Simon and Garfunkel’s ‘The Boxer’, REM’s ‘Everybody Hurts’, and U2 ‘s ‘Beautiful Day’.

Tonight is also Simon Cowell’s last appearance on Idol (as a judge), and will feature performances by former Idol winners Carrie Underwood and Kris Allen, along with Enrique Iglesias, and as we told you before, Christina Aguilera. I’d expect other special guests and tributes for Cowell.
