Talk show host and newest American Idol judge comedian Ellen DeGeneres is creating her own record label in order to discover and to sign new musical talent. According to The Hollywood Reporter and Reuters, DeGeneres will name her record label “eleveneleven”. DeGeneres delivered the good news to her “Ellen DeGeneres Show” audience on Wednesday. The record label is a project in conjunction with Telepictures Productions. Sadly, I have no word yet on exactly what “eleveneleven” means or signifies.
The first artist “eleveneleven” will sign is YouTube sensation, 12-year-old Greyson Chance. Chance’s video of himself playing the piano and singing Lady Gaga’s hit song “Paparazzi” went viral, snagging over 20 million views and earning him two visits to Ellen’s show. Chance has also posted videos for his original compositions titled “Stars” and “Broken Hearts.” DeGeneres has been a bright spot on season 9 of American Idol.
