Where would we be without Oprah? The talk show Queen dedicated an entire episode to the scream-inducing sequel, the third film in the Twilight Saga, Eclipse. R Pat, K Stew, and a hunky Taylor Lautner were her guests, who were later joined by an effervescent 16-year-old Dakota Fanning. Don’t fret if you missed it. Let’s recap!
Oprah had to silence the cheers to get her interviews started. She likened the fan following of Twilight to the Beatles phenomenon of her generation. Pattinson said the hoards of heart-sick worshipers were easier to deal with because they wanted Edward. “Its not about you,” he admitted. The charmer said of his previous life as a young actor, “Everything was rubbish,” prior to Twilight. Meanwhile Lautner thanked his followers for no longer asking him to howl in public.
Many talk show hosts give audience members gifts, but Oprah’s generosity is a thing of legend. Her entire studio audience previewed the entire Eclipse film, and a month before the rest of us get to line up for June 30th showings. What other gift did she give? Why the gift of Pattinson of course! Orpah sent R Pat to the homes of fans to surprise them and invite them to Oprah’s show. At one house Pattinson rang the bell for a very long time before a gaggle of screaming gals bombarded him at the front door with hugs. When is it my turn??
