The French trailer rocks! This is a phrase we are seeing across the interwebs, and frankly, in the case of M. Night Shyamalan’s The Last Airbender, it’s true! The promotional video in the French language focuses a little more on the human aspect of the mystical adventure film which has been adapted from the popular Nickelodeon cartoon series. It also features a few choice shots of the young hero Aang using his amazing air bending powers in combat. What’s not to like? And hey, the poster art is pretty incredible, too.
Airbender takes place in another world, one where four nations are both divided and represented by the elements earth, fire, wind and water. Airbenders have been wiped out and the fire nation wages a war with total domination as their goal. Aang, however, turns up as the Avatar, the last Airbender left standing, and the key to the destiny and balance of power in his world (with a little help from his friends). Paramount Pictures is releasing the film in both 2D and 3D July 2nd. If you saw Iron Man 2 this weekend, you saw an American version of the trailer in English featuring some amazing looking dragons.
