Twilighters rejoice! We have a release date! Though the final installment of the Twilight Saga for the silver screen is possibly going to be divided into two separate films, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, to be directed by Bill Condon will debut November 18, 2011. Condon is embracing fans. On his resume are such films as Chicago and Dreamgirls.
Summit Entertainment has confirmed the squeal worthy news, and it has also been posted on author Stephenie Meyer’s website. The script, adapted from Meyer’s novel, the 4th and longest in the hot, hot, hot series, is being penned by Melissa Rosenberg, the talented writer behind all of the previous Twilight films. Most surprising for me to learn however, is that this time around Stephenie Meyer is also producing the film. Meyer said of Condon, “I’m so thrilled that Bill wants to work with us. I think he’s going to be a great fit, and I’m excited to see what he does with the material.”
The information comes following the news of a new Twilight novella, The Brief Second Life of Bree Tanner, which Meyer actually agreed to let Breaking Dawn actors read, allowing them to more fully immerse into their characters. Their copies were literally burn-after-reading! Fans can purchase their own copies of the stand alone book, or wait and read it for free June 5th on Meyer’s website. The third movie in the franchise, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse promises lot’s of action and hits theaters June 30th of this year.
