Few things get me worked up like survival horror games. Capcom’s Resident Evil series created, defined, and dominated the genre for years, with few games able to even come close to throwing them from the survival horror throne. But in October 2008, Redwood Studios came along and entered the ring armed with their amazing science fiction survival horror game titled Dead Space.

Not only did the game resonate heavily with the genre’s huge fan base on the PS3 and XBox 360, but the full length anime movie, comic books, and Dead Space: Extraction entry for the Nintendo Wii solidified the IP (Intellectual Property) as a future cornerstone in the EA product line. Redwood Studios is now Visceral Games, an internal developer at EA, but don’t let the new name fool you…more Dead Space is coming, and looks to launch the series into the record books as one of the best survival horror IPs of all time.
The following video was shot off-screen at the Electronic Arts press conference. It includes some discussion by the developer, plus a live demo, which drops Isaac – the protagonist from the first game – into a Church of Unitlogy location that’s crawling with Necromorphs. You’ll notice some aesthetic changes to the interfaces in this build of the demo, but that will all likely change before launch. Enjoy! Keep checking back at BSC’s Gaming and E3 section for more on this amazing conference, and much, much more!

Out of the frying pan and into the fire!!! This ROCKS!
