Electronic Arts held their Monday, June 14th press conference – by invitation only – at the Orpheum Theater in historic downtown Los Angeles. I was able to get into the conference even though I wasn’t officially invited. How? I was sporting my Media badge and wormed my way in with my charismatic wit and charm…umm, no, they scolded me for not pre-registering and then let me pass.
The screenshot above was taken from my newly acquired seat at the EA event. I took a few moments to shoot a quick, cheesy introduction video spotlighting my purpose and excitement.
When the red current began to rise and the lights fell dim, the roar from the crowd deafened me. Flashing lights and thunderous booms signaled the opening sequences on the jumbo-tron screen behind the current. What footage did EA decide to open E3 2010 with? Need for Speed Hot Pursuit 2010! Check out the video below for the entire opener. Please note that all footage is shot off-screen with my Canon Powershot SX10-IS 10.1MP camera, and it’s not HD-quality. You’ll note some heads getting in the way and some quick focus adjustments, but overall the footage is solid.
But the Electronic Arts’ press conference didn’t stop there, not by a long shot. Keep checking back at BSC’s Gaming and E3 section for more on this amazing conference, and much, much more!
