Aside from the cheesy – I mean SUPER cheesy – dialogue in the gameplay trailer for Epic Games’ first person shooter (FPS), Bulletstorm, I am anticipating the title. First off, it looks beautiful. I’m not sure which platform the demo was running on, but I assumed PC. Yes, it looks that good. And while the FPS genre is constantly being over-saturated, Bulletstorm appears positioned to add a lot more gameplay to the normal run-and-gun mechanic. As you’ll see in the off-screen video footage below, your character has some sort of energy tether that he can use to stun enemies, then launch them into the air in a Matrix-style Bullet-Time event. Point bonuses are earned for how cleverly you can kill your foes, and several such moments in the demo rouses cheers from the crowd.
If only it weren’t for the silly dialogue and terrible voice-acting, I would’ve thought this title stole the show. Hopefully, Epic will hire new voice talent and writers before the release date.
