Last month we posted some pics from the shoot of Katy Perry’s “California Gurls”, a video that would also future Snoop Dog. The duo – in a night of duos – debuted the song’s first ever televised performance last night at the MTV Movie Awards. The future Smurfette and the Dogfather – from Santa Barbara and Long Beach respectively – celebrated all things Cali in the performance. “California Gurls” is the first single off of Katy’s next album, Teenage Dream, and is scheduled for an August 24 Summer release.
Fans of Perry will be able to catch her again very soon, as the pop star will be attending and performing at the MuchMusic Awards later this month (June 20th) and has a leg on the TODAY Show Summer Concert series, actually closing the event on on August 27th (check out all of the scheduled acts). Perry, or rather her voice, is hitting the big screen soon as well, lending her voice to Smurfette while joining a cast that includes Neil Patrick Harris, Jonathan Winters, Alan Cumming, George Lopez, and Sofia Vergara in bringing the classic Peyo comic and cartoon to film.
