Lady Gaga has been one busy starlet. Following her Rolling Stone cover, news of interest from Quentin Tarantino, and the release of her “Alejandro” music video, comes a live performance in front of a small gathering hosted by Elton John.
Word is still out on whether Lady Gaga’s “You and I” will make the new album, but the smoky, old school rocker vocals and straight forward musical arrangement would make a welcome change of pace from the techno normalcy of her other songs. Until a determination is made one way or the other, you can enjoy her scantily clad performance of the song at the Elton John White Tie and Tiara Ball.
Gaga first introduces the song as “a bit of a rock and roll tune. So that means it will most likely never get used as one of my singles, so I guess it’s okay to play it tonight.” Gaga’s Twitter notes, “Written in NY on the piano I grew up on.”
Seems like an impassioned change of pace, and hopefully a sign of things to come for the pop star.
