Fresh off news of his guest appearance on Glee, according to EW, Neil Patrick Harris reprises his role as Neil Patrick Harris in the upcoming third entry to the stoner comedy series Harold and Kumar with A Very Harold and Kumar Christmas. In the last film, Harris almost bought the farm when he crossed paths with Beverly D’Angelo outside of a brothel. This time around, you can bet that the Hershey’s kiss-loving, love stain-making comedian will be in rare form as he reconnects with his druggie buddies played by John Cho and Kal Penn.
(Penn made news earlier this year when he gave up his position with the Obama Administration to return to acting.)
The Christmas theme is a change of pace for the raunchy series, which began with 2004′s Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle and was followed in 2008 with Harold and Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay. Thus far, plot details are being kept under wraps, and casting decisions are moving slow, but director Todd Strauss-Schulson is confident he will turn in the film in time for a 2011 holiday release, though a release date is yet to be announced.
