R. Kelly was on hand for the pre-game festivities of the South Africa and Mexico match, kicking off the 2010 FIFA World Cup’s first game by performing his ‘Signs of a Victory’ in front of over 80,000 people in the stadium (and I imagine billions watching on television?). Yesterday, we brought you Shakira’s live performance of ‘Waka Waka’, opening the event and occurring a few days after the official video for the song hit the web.
‘Signs Of A Victory’ was written and produced by R. Kelly and was named the official theme song of the 2010 World Cup. He said of it:
It’s definitely no doubt a humanity song, and I’m hoping that everybody feels the same way when they hear it,” he said. “(I’m) hoping they can be as touched by it as I was when I heard it in my head.
