Twilighters get ready, because we’ve got one of the most exciting clips of Twilight Saga: Eclipse yet! In the epilogue of her New York Times Best Seller, Eclipse, the third novel in the beloved, romantic and deliciously paranormal Twilight series, author Stephenie Meyer provides a Robert Frost poem titled “Fire and Ice”. In this extended clip fans see ice versus fire up close and personal as Edward the vampire and Jacob the Native American shape shifter face off to argue Bella’s safety and as Jake puts it, that “she has a right to know”. Right to know what? Everything. The frightening details about their world and a certain redhead who will stalk Bella until death. Near the end of the scene Bella rides off on Jacob’s motorcycle. Yeesh, Edward, that’s gotta sting!
BSC is dedicated to unparalleled Twilight Saga coverage. Because pictures are worth a thousand words, check out these fantastic character photos we just unveiled. A gem in the Twilight Saga is the romances within, the ones that compliment the main triangle between Edward, Jacob, and Bella. Case in point, those photos show off some of our secondary couples. You can see Sam and his lady love. There’s Alice and Jasper (I spend some of my time on Team Jasper). Rosalie and Emmet show up, too.
But wait, there’s more! Pictures that is! We’ve also got a review of Meyer’s most recent Twilight novella. Speaking of Bree Tanner’s story, do you want to meet her? Okay, so not in person, silly. It’s a video, but a good one. There’s also Eclipse soundtrack news. And I’ll see you in theaters (or IMAX) June 30th for the premier!

beautiful!!!!!!!!!
Why do they feel the need to add these stupid made up scenes. They ruin everything when there is so much goodness in the book!!! STOP ALREADY!!!!
Victoria and Riley never pinned Edward down in the books. Edward and Seth did them in! They better have some good Edward scenes to make up for it! Team Edward all the way!
I’m with Kristy! Eclipse is so large that it downloads as a two parter. Plenty of material there. Slade hates me. Also, I can tell from the massive clips and trailers he’s awkward with connection and interaction. He doesn’t get it and the obvious attempt to bridge into a male audience is a major fail. My BF just rolls his eyes whenever the subject comes up. He says Twi isn’t his idea of a date night payoff because my squee won’t transfer and laughs at me.
Aye to Val too! Unfortunately the Edward and Bella scenes, or any emoting went into bad daytime TV soap stuff – or, Harlequin romance chops so far. Another insulting example of how much Slade hates me.
Dog soldiers is more romantic and nuanced than these clips and trailers. Sorry everybody for the copious comments, but Eclipse was my gave and the perfect setup opportunity for BDawn wish fulfillment. Sniffle.
WTF are they messing with the book?!! Bella doesn’t ride off with Jacob to spite Edward! Victoria and Riley never get close to ripping Edwards head off! Edward doesn’t act like a jealous a**, he’s a perfect gentleman! What’s the betting the bit where Jacob says in the clips “I’ll protect you as long as your heart still beats” actually replaces his less than flattering “I’d rather see you dead than a bloodsucker”?!! Anybody else think they’re twisting the story turn favour towards Jacob? I really hope the clips I’ve seen are misleading!
Finally!! thank you Suzyb The clips have been bugging me, it is my favourite book because of how self sacrifcing Edward is, he’ll do anything to make Bella happy even stand back if she wants Jacob, but Jacob won’t listen, he forces himself onto Bella, guilts her into the kiss, and would prefer to see her dead than change like Edward, but every clip is leaning towards Jake, I hope the clips are misleading too. Oh and something else that bugs me is why are summit trying to bring in male fans?? its the girls/women that made it popular why aliante them, Newmoon is one of the biggest money spinners ever made yet they want to ruin it all and try and make it cool for guys??
Oh oh and why I am on a role of having a moan, why has SM written about Bree who give a f..k about her LOL I want midnight sun, and all the other books from Edwards POV he can read minds so the books from his POV would be amazing listening on everyone else around him too,
Geez finally is right. It’s nice to hear from other fans and readers too. I feel less alienated now. I’m so agreeing with the points made here and I’m so bummed that with only 2 hrs. 4 min. That they made time for a bunch of made up story, or stuff that barely was in the book. Don’t get me started on Seattle, Bree and the Volturi expansion – the char limit won’t fit it all. Even the tent scene was a reshoot after thought for chrissakes – the tent scene! Hello internet, are you receiving me? Important scene worthy of much consideration and planning. Anyway the pace is alarming and very guy friendly – I keep expecting The Rock to jump out with an Uzi. It makes me dizzy not seeing the actor’s faces and reactions when they speak. The slower romance scenes are like a half eaten box of grocery store chocolates – like on sale after V-day. I mean cheesy with no tension. Because Slade hates me and thinks I’m stupid, so I’ll go for some crossover Jacob, Bree, Riley, Jane franchise spinoff instead. Yeah, I’m 9 years old and want Disney and bic shavers and heart puzzle boxes and authors who have to give me a free book and tell me to read it so the movie makes sense – not. I wanted MSun too. Duh.
Yeah, Summit ruined the essence of Edward and Bella’s love for each other. They chose not to live without the other, they would rather die than to spend their existence alone. Bella in the book is very clear about her need for Jacob as her friend and nothing more. I think Summit wants to attract the fans of Taylor Lautner and more male fans so they changed the story (Bella leaving with Jacob when Edward is there?, focus on the newborns?, Edward almost getting ripped by Victoria and Riley?) , it’s sad that SM allowed them to do that. They forgot that before the Twilight saga was a movie, we were reading it as a book. If not for wanting to see Robert Pattinson as Edward, I’m not watching the film at all.
Okay, I agree with what most of you are saying but please don’t put your expectations so high…it could never compare to the books and how we see it in our heads. First of all, I have felt that they (summit) has been marketing Team Jacob since New Moon. Hello, he takes off his shirt to wipe the blood off of Bella’s head…WTF…doesnt happen in the move but everyone loved it in the theaters. I hate that she got on the bike with Jacob, Bella is not at the point in the book were she doesnt listen to what Edward says. Why does she have to leave to talk to him, she is the kind of character (at this point) that wants all of them to be friends (edward and jake) so why would she leave to talk to him???? They must be cramming a few chapters together…ggggrrrrhhh. This movie should be 3 hours damn it. I know a lot of people would disagree with me, but the Twilight had why more romance and darkness then New Moon movie, which was directed by a women. I felt they hurried through New Moon. The action was great but the love was lost. (sorry, it is because it was directed by a man) Catherine did a good job with the money she had, they didnt know how successful the movie would be until after the first one. Summit should of kept her…Just my opinion. Eclipse will be great just becaue we love the books and want more, much more Twilight. But their ploy to try to engage a male audience is far fetched. The Twilight Saga will always be known as a “chick flick”. I just have one question for Summit, “WHERE IS THE DYING LOVE THAT EDWARD AND BELLA HAVE FOR EACH OTHER????” You better bring it in Breaking Dawn or I will never watch a SUMMIT FILM ever again. Oh yeah…It really pissed me off when Bella told Jake she loves him in New Moon in front of Edward…WTF. She doesnt even know that until the end of Eclipse. (pulling hair out) I love Jacob (after the tenth time I read the series, it took awhile) but they are making her love him more than she does just to add drama. My advice to Summit, you will make more off Twilight if you stick to the books. That is why we watch the movies, we love the books. KEEP IT REAL-FOOLS-lol
Oh I totally agree! The Twilight Saga is primarily a supernatural romance. I understand the need to make films lively enough to attract a broad demographic but not at the expense of the story! Twilight was a huge hit with a low budget and it was focused on the incredible romance between Bella and Edward, not on mad action scenes and new side stories! Although I think Kristen acted well in the New Moon depression scenes, I most definitely did not enjoy the Jacob relationship exaggeration. They did not get that close to kissing. Bella was VERY clear in the books that although she needed Jacob, she only needed him as a good friend and wishes he were her brother even! The bike crash/Jake stripping scene? I saw New Moon in the cinema twice and both times the audience howled with laughter at the gratuitous muscle display. Don’t get me wrong, there’s nothing wrong with a nice guy taking his top off but it was totally unecessary to the scene or the story! Instead of adding that stuff in, why not show clips of what Edward was up to over that time instead? At least it would be closer to the original story’s intentions! New Moon totally lost the Edward/Bella undying love vibe. One of Bella’s biggest characteristics is her selflessness and that’s barely been portrayed since Twilight either! I cant believe how they appear to have her behaving in Eclipse! I also can’t believe they weren’t focusing on the tent scene from the start too. Do Summit not realise that its a pivotal scene in the book? And making it look like Edward could lose to Victoria and Riley is proposterous! In the book it was portrayed as almost too easy for him, despite Bella’s worry! GRR! By the way, it also bugs me that Jacob’s meant to be a massive beast of a man (which is stated over and over in the books) yet film Jacob is barely taller than Bella? Hmmmph! I do like Jacob in the books, he’s kinda immature but he loves Bella and just wants her to be his. He’s not a true threat to Bella’s love for Edward except for one paragraph in Eclipse when she realises life could be easy for them and pictures thier kids, that’s about it! And he’s basically a nice guy, not this moody, irritating, nasty and petulant person who supposedly has a chance with Bella and a penchant for taking his clothes off just to stop a bit of blood, that the film portrays him as! PLEASE let Breaking Dawn stay close to the true story. The books are why we love the Twilight Saga after all!
What really bothers me is Bella’s attitude towards Edward when she gets on the back of Jake’s bike. Bella feels so bad about Edward’s guilt for leaving her, that she doesnt or never would treat him like that. She always wants Edward even when she thinks she loves Jake. She doesnt want to spend a minute without him and she doesnt have secret talks to Jacob. I am really upset about how they are changing her character. All I know is they better have the scene when they go to class after the fight (which doesnt look like much of one) and Edward and Bella exchange notes in class. I bet they dont have it, hello she leave with Jacob. OOOOHHH I wanted to slap him when he smirked at Edward and Bella told him to stop. Edward is not pathetic like they are trying to make him. At this point Edward would have stopped Bella from leaving with Jacob. He did when she tried to sneak out at night and he unpluged the cable to the engine. That is after the scene at Forks, so what makes them think Edward would let Bella leave on a Motorcyle (at that) with Jake?????-He wouldn’t. Edward is all about protecting her, a werewolve (shapeshifter-does summit know that) and a motorcycle, Edward would not allow it at all. Stay true to the charater people-your ruining it for the rest of us.
To be honest the twilight film was way better for me than the book, which was a first for me, I loved Edward in the first book, but in the film Rob brought him to life, so much better than SM did, I love new moon but not impressed with the lack of intense love between B & E. Both times I saw Newmoon the cinema was full and 99% reacted to the B & E kisses, and giggled at Jake trying to be all cool. I am shocked reading here that the tent was an after thought WTF?? when Bella is sleeping and the boys talk is when my heart breaks for Edward. I’m getting worried, I understand things in the film have to change but not the whole dynamic of personalities and plot to try and bring in guys, when summit made millions off us all why ruin it to bring in another audience? I’m sorry this may not make sense and my spelling is probably bad my eyes are hanging out of my head, been a tough week at work LOL I dont think I’d be that bothered seeing Eclipse if it wasn’t for Rob, and I find myself supporting him in whatever LOL
Still shocked tent was an after thought, and if thats the case I am really worried as it seems the few clips we’ve seen are how the whole thing is going to be
there is no way they will leave out the tent scene. SM has her hand in the production of the films and I dont think she would let this happen. The tent scene WILL happen or there is going to be a lot of disappointed fans. Like you said it is a pivotal scene. That is the biggest dialog Edward and Jake have up to this point. They will have it, i will bet money on it.
There is a tent scene that was shot. I think they added it after the early cut and fan reaction wanting more of the triangle jealousy moments. Yah, like the actual Eclipse story. I believe it was shot after Rob returned for Eclipse reshoots from Bel Ami. Rob, Kristen and Taylor mention it during a behind the scenes interview during their Oprah appearance. Rob says at a fan event he learned that scene wad supposed to be humorous and Taylor says, oh, maybe it will be funny because they’re thinking it’s not. Anyway, it was quick, added after and the idea that it would be considered as unnecessary along with a host of other scenes in favor of made up cross demographic crud is upsetting to me. He doesn’t get it – or anything close to my read of Eclipse (my fave of the series). Hardwicke did get it – Weitz at least trusted the actor’s instincts and didn’t monkey with the feelings. The love story is obscured and where it appears is so cheesy. All those moments gone. I barely recognize this – it’s more like any other movie now, only borrowing the promise of heat and characters that used to captivate me. I feel kind of mocked by it so far. Just why?
Sorry everyone, I’m just insulted and disappointed. If I wanted or was inspired by another vampire or werewolf action adventure thriller there were already plenty of those to be had. Scads of them. Why hijack this one?
I love this clip!! I love the interaction between Bella, Jacob and Edward!!
Thats what has me worried, the tent part was an after thought, its one of the biggest parts of the book
Wow, so glad I am not the only one feeling nervous about Eclipse. All of the clips have me worried that they have altered the characters out of recognition. One of the things I always respected about Bella was that she did not play with Jacobs feelings for her. She was always clear that it was Edward. New Moon seemed to blur that a little and Eclipse seems to be heading that way as well. The test scene at after thought…WTF! I am with sheildmyloves – Summit better not muck it up or they will not watch Summit films…me too!
Oh my god, this is so sad!! RIP : (
All of you guys work yourselves up worrying about what will or will not be in the movie that when the day actually comes to go see it, you wont be able to actually enjoy it because you will be looking for whats missing. Seriously I am a hugeeee fan of this series, but I know and understand that not everything in a book can be in a movie. Its just not plausible in any aspect. Also, what might sound good on page many times doesnt work on screen. Chapters/scenes are then mixed together to make the story flow better when watching. The tent scene will be in there, the fight scene is there, the fight practices are there, the bella punching jacob is there, the awkward birds and the bees talk is there, bella at camp fire in la push is there, and lots and lots of edward and bella action is there….etc. I think that if everyone would just stay open minded and remember that a book is one form of art and a movie is another, then fans will enjoy it much more. If you look for what is wrong, then you will lose the story, you hav to look at the positive. Sure we all want to see everything on screen, but its kjust not gonna happen and u all hav to learn to accept that. Lastly, in everyyyy movie ever adapted from a book there has alwayyyysssss been added scenes not originally included in that book! Why would these books be any different? Scenes have to be added for continuity purposes and fluidity. Just because they might add a quick part in a scene where victoria and riley grab edward by the throat does not mean the movie will suck, it just might make it more intense! Dont freak out over something so small, really, your only hurting yourself. Ok now that all of that is said, i can only hope that peoplw will head my warning and follow my suggestion because it just might be the difference between a good or a bad movie experience, trust me!
Stefanie I think what we are all saying here, from the clips we’ve seen so far it looks like they are changing how Bella, Edward & Jake are in the books, I understand that things will change when turned into a film, but what shouldn’t change is personalities of the main three. In the books Edward would do whatever made Bella happy even if that meant be with Jake IF thats what she wanted, he wanted to keep her safe from young wolves, was slightly jealous the fact Jake would be a better choice for her, but he knew Bella had chosen him, the clips make him look jealous and petty, Jake in the books wanted Bella but until the tent kiss she made it perfectly clear he was like a brother to her, the film has him looking like he could have a chance when we all know he no hope in hell, and Bella in the book, was selfless, in these clips it looks like she plays they both off against eachother, likes Edwards jealousy and likes Jakes attention which couldn’t be further from book Bella. I wouldn’t mind change in the film if they kept the personalities the same. I had the same worries about Newmoon and I love the film, just wish they kept the Jake as the little brother, not an actual threat to Edward, because if you’ve read the books you know Jake never came close to having a chance with Bella LOL I also don’t like how Summit keeps saying oh guys are gonna love this film too, umm no they won’t it is a chick film, we are the ones that made it what it is today, why try to change that and bring in a guy audience? I know I’ll enjoy the film, it’s got Rob in it LOL I just hope they haven ‘t changed the main focus of love story to make way for the “guys” that will “love” it LOL cause if they have done that then they could have made a great film into an amazing one by leaving things alone
Well said Kels. Stefanie, we just want the essence of the book to be true in the film. We are true Twilight fans and will love any piece of the Twilight Saga we can get. I would just prefer that Summit doesnt change the characters personalities. The clip I saw were Bella gets on the back of the bike with Jake, that would not happen at this point in the story because Edward does not let Bella out of his sight due to his guilt for leaving her in New Moon. And Bella would not have left with Jake because she knows how much it would hurt Edward. So this is what I am talking about…I dont care if they change the scenes, but dont change the scenes so much that it changes how the characters come across to the audience. If I hadnt read the books, I would assume that Bella was trying to make Edward jealous and Jake has a chance with her….I do not like that. Also, in New Moon i did not like when she told Jake she loves him but will choose Edward. She doesnt even know she loves him. The scene was changed in the end and Edward and Bella meet him in the forest, which it doesnt exactly happen like that and that is okay. But why did they have to have her say she loves him but will choose Edward????? LOVED NEW MOON still but I just want them to be true to the characters. We are not looking for what is wrong, we want Summit to keep it real. How could they think of the Tent Scene as an after thought. That is one of the most important scenes in Eclipe. It bonds Edward and Jacob together and it is the first time they actually open up to one another. No matter what they do or change in the film, I will love it no matter what. There are certain things that we all are excited to see and just hope they make it to the big screen.
There are plenty of males that love twilight, whats the big deal?
watching edwards face as bella gets on the mortocycle….GREAT ACTOR!!
bravo ROBERT(:
taylor with that smirk^^
I like this clip. I love Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner and Kirsten Stewart!! They make a great team, the three of them have very good chemistry together. I call it team “chemistry”. I love the twilight movies
