My, my, my. The start of True Blood: Season three beings in just two days (June 13th) and as if there wasn’t already enough anticipation buzzing in the hearts of True Blood fans everywhere, HBO has graciously released six, count ‘em, six new clips from the daredevil new season. What should you expect this time around? Well Sookie’s beloved vamp Bill is going to turn up missing just in time for the premier of werewolf Alcide into the southern lady’s life. Writer/ director Alan Ball has promised this season will see more of everything. Honest, we have the video to prove it.
“Shivers”, “Find Bill”, “Don’t Underestimate Yourself”, “Bill vs Werewolves”, “How do you stop”, and “I was raised to fight back” are the titles of these juicy clips. In “Bill vs the Werewolves” we see that real-life four-footed wolves are used to portray the werewolves in their furry forms and in “How do you stop” newer vampire Jessica asks old pro Pam for a lesson in feeding on humans.
Actors returning to season three are: Anna Paquin, Stephen Moyer, Nelsan Ellis, Sam Trammell, Rutina Wesley, Alexander Skarsgard and Kristin Bauer. New actors joining the cast are: Joe Manganiello, Kevin Alejandro, Alfre Woodard, Michael Steger, and Laura Pulver. Manganiello, in fact, is the show’s new Alcide, an important character from the novels. Check him out in the cast member on cast member video from a few days ago. You can see a similar interview between Nelsan Ellis and Kevin Alejandro. Or if you missed it, catch the extended season trailer and the enormous batch of promo pics, hot off the proverbial presses.
True Blood is a paranormal drama based on the novels of Charlaine Harris. Set in the south, they rotate around Sookie, a telepathic waitress, as she tangos with vampires, whose blood is pushed on the streets like a drug, and now werewolves, and other magical folk as well. It ain’t Twilight, though. There’s a reason the show belongs on HBO. It’s definitely for grown ups.

Love these clips and I can’t wait to Watch Sookie and Erik get it on Sunday. Mmhmm.
