Christina Aguilera ‘Burlesque’ Images

Her name is Christina Aguilera and she’s coming to a theater near you. The pop icon will be making her film debut in Burlesque, a picture every bit as “sexy” and “sensual” as it sounds, promises Aguilera. She told USA Today in an exciting first look, “The whole idea of burlesque has always intrigued me. The art of the tease, the dance, beautiful women — need I say more?” Aguilera was also attracted to her character’s strength. In the rags to riches tale, a small town Iowa girl suffers through the foster care system and her past pain to get to LA and become a star. BSC last saw Aguilera making news on her Bionic tour. Cher and Stanley Tucci are Aguilera’s co-stars in Burlesque. Who wouldn’t want to work with the pair of them? The writing team for the film included Diablo Cody, the force behind Juno and Jennifer’s Body. Maybe I shouldn’t have mentioned that last one. Though that project only grossed $6.8 million its opening weekend, Cody also created television dramedy United States of Tara, which has earned two Emmy Awards and critical acclaim.
