How many of you think you know me fairly well? *Looks around for a show of hands* OK, so for those of you who do, what is my only passion in the sports arena, besides Pittsburgh Penguins hockey? Paintball!!!! Ding! Ding! Ding! I’ve written tons of articles on the sport, including one for BSC a while back when the discussion turned to what authors do when they’re not writing. I play paintball, write for paintball, help create paintball stuff (when time permits, of course…scarce these days), and did I mention play paintball?
So when Majesco Entertainment invited me to their booth to both interview and hang out with Greg Hastings and his new video game – Greg Hastings Paintball 2 – I believe I may have soiled myself as I reveled in the news.
Greg Hastings, as a name, is the most successful in all of paintball. For 23 years the man has done it all in the sport, education being his primary focus. With his video games, he’s pushed the limits and packed as many features as possible. In Greg Hastings Paintball 2, players brave the elements in the unpredictable outdoors in this intense first-person paintball experience like never before. Got friends? Get 20 of them together for fast-paced multiplayer action, test your skills in brand new scenario modes, manage a team of skilled players from the real world, and even master a huge array of paintball markers (the guns, folks, the guns)!

SC Village (real life field) North Vietnam location!!
But that’s not all. Explore all new terrain at…get this…62 unique and varied fields from 12 real life paintball locations from all over the United States and Europe. Greg has gone global!
Want more multiplayer? You got it. Challenge friends in 7 multiplayer game types with up to 20 players (up to 8 on the Wii, FYI). Local 2-player splitscreen matches are here, too…finally someone listened and kept local splitscreen in a FPS game! LOL! Play together against bots or go head-to-head.
Up the ante by pumping up game-altering weather settings and hazards, such as fog, wind, rain, and mud.

Got rain? It will alter your gameplay, paintball trajectory, etc!
Still hungry for more?? Greg’s got it. He heard you ask “What about gear?” Equip your team with a wide selection of markers, goggles, jerseys, and accessories, as well as the latest special weapons such as pump guns, pistols, paint grenades (they are fun to use and have FOUR different lob capabilities), and paint rocket launchers.
More features include an improved map editor: now it’s even easier to create and edit your own fields to increase the challenge. An all new Cheat Meter enables you to avoid elimination by successfully wiping away paint splatter without being caught! How many ‘ballers wish they had this in real life??

Win tournaments to earn cash for new gear, players, and skill upgrades. The game will support the Wii Remote and Nunchuk, but as of this writing does not support the PlayStationMove or Kinect systems, and most likely won’t.
An improved control scheme – which I got to witness during my live demo with Greg one-on-one – allows players to quickly switch weapons, gun hands, and snap out of cover with absolute accuracy. It’s quite amazing just how detailed this game is with respect to the reality of the sport. I can actually mimic what I myself do on the field!

Boston Paintball Invert Area
There’s almost too much here in this game to cover every single detail, and believe me the fact sheet I’m looking at right now lists even more that I can’t fit into this article. I was given a thorough breakdown of the game with Greg Hastings himself, and being the paintball player I am, I had to marvel at what Super X Studios and Greg have done with the title. You can see the passion and care that went into the game just by the sheer enormity of the features and tweaking of the interface and gameplay mechanics.
Greg Hastings Paintball 2will be released on September 14, 2010 for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Wii for $49.99. Rated E10+. Check out www.gregredhastings.com for more info on Greg Hastings.

Check out the video trailer below for Greg Hastings Paintball 2, and I’ll see you on the virtual field come September!

Wasn’t the first Greg Hasting’s Paintball famous for being one of the worst games ever? These graphics don’t exactly inspire confidence…
Who cares about the graohucs when you could have a ton of fun when playing playing this game your probly just some halo playing nerd who only cares about killing and headshots!
I’ve played the game and I have to say I love it!
When I first picked it up I was on the fence about the graphics… but the gameplay makes up for it in my opinion. Tons of customization, locations etc. Next gen systems needed a paintball game thats not that other one… NPPL Championship Paintball 2009 [it sucked].
GG, Greg.
