Grey’s Anatomy season seven in shaping up in the most surprising ways. We have news that Caterina Scorsone, series regular on spin-off Private Practice, will also appear on Grey‘s. Scorsone portrays Dr. Amelia Shepherd, Dr. Derek Shepherd’s (Patrick Dempsey) sister. She will visit Seattle to reconcile with her brother, who she has not spoken with since Amelia turned to drugs to cope with the death of their father, who was murdered in front of the siblings.
Of her role, the actress said to TV Guide, “Regardless of the strife and tension and drama between the family members, there’s a bond and a connection that is so deep. Obviously Amelia has a lot of emotion surrounding Derek and that relationship and all the things they’ve been through together. There’s a lot of unresolved emotions surrounding that whole relationship.” James Tupper and Sarah Drew will also appear on season seven. And speaking of spin-offs, we have news about Off the Map, the new upcoming medical drama by producer Shonda Rhimes of Grey’s and Private Practice.
