The weekend it was brains versus brawn as Inception battled Salt and came out shining. According to EW.com Angelina Jolie’s spy thriller took in an estimated $36.5 million its opening weekend. BSC has the film trailer. Inception, however, the film about high stakes dream espionage brought to us direct from Chris Nolan, director of The Dark Knight, (we have a review) only dropped 31 percent in viewership on its second weekend running. The $43.5 million the film took over the past few days has put its total receipts at $143.6 million. And that total has been accumulated over only ten days. The IMAX profits alone were $4.8 million. That’s not to say that Jolie and Salt were not entertaining. I had a blast watching the femme fatale and mother of many kicking some serious butt. Inception, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Ellen Page, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Ken Watanabe, Marion Cotillard, Tom Hardy, and Cillian Murphy; just happens to be better!
