Set in the twelfth century, The Pillars of the Earth is the new Starz series, which illuminates the emergence of Gothic architecture and the intertwining rise of the Kingsbridge priory. It is based on the historical novel of the same name. It stars Ian McShane, Donald Sutherland, Rufus Sewell and Hayley Atwell (pictured above). Today we’ve got the making of featurette to give viewers some insight into this eight-hour miniseries revealing the wars, the quality of life, and the struggles for power of England’s yesteryear.
