We’ve got one more reason to be wild fans of young blue-eyed British actor, Nicholas Hoult. I was long ago charmed by his delightfully quirky child performance in dramady About a Boy, then stunned by his acting prowess and grown up gorgeous looks in A Single Man and Clash of the Titans. Now Deadline announces Hoult will play Beast in X-Men: First Class, joining James McAvoy as Prof. Charles Xavier, Michael Fassbender as Magneto and Alice Eve as Emma Frost. Though Hoult’s Beast will be pre-blue body fur, I’m not sure the actor, great as he is, would have been my first or second choice for the role of a young Hank McCoy. I tend to picture someone more burly, a high school football star type.
As BSC reported back in May, Matthew Vaughn – who brought is Kick-Ass and Stardust – will direct X-Men: First Class.
