Any melancholy love triangle fans in the audience? If so, get ready for this brief teaser from Norwegian Wood. The Beatles song that accompanies this all-too-short look at the adaptation of Haruki Murakami’s novel sets a haunting mood of melancholy for a coming of age tale of young love.
Toru Watanabe (Kenichi Matsuyama) has always been in love with the beautifully somber Naoko (Rinko Kikuchi). When a mutual friend dies unexpectedly, the tragedy brings them together. On the night of her 20th birthday, they make love. But after that Naoko retreats homeward as a recluse and Toru attends college in 1969 Tokyo. There, he meets the vivacious Midori (Kiko Mizuhara). There, he must come to terms with his old love and the growing attraction to Midori.
Ready the hankies, ladies!
