Rhys Hughes Talks Mike Mignola, Hellboy and Twisthorn

More Gestalt Mash pimpage, but I think interesting to BSC SF/F readers, as the author of a number of terrific novels and collections, Rhys Hughes, shares his introduction and him being influenced by Mike Mignola and Hellboy. Titled ‘Mignola Daydreaming’, Rhys not only goes into his own project inspired by Mignola’s comic, but also provides some pretty funny and creative images of his visions for the villains of this series (he admits he can’t draw!). I imagined the big red demon with the broken horns standing on a dead world, a rogue planet that was on collision course with our own. I imagined him trapped inside a palace so large that storm clouds formed under the roof, and mountains and rivers were contained in the rooms. I also imagined him descending through tunnels into the centre of the Earth in the style of a Jules Verne explorer.
