Actress and singer Selena Gomez is leaving the Disney show Wizards of Waverly Place. The news is not a surprise for this Hollywood news junkie. Her peer, Miley Cyrus, is working on her final season of Hannah Montana. Gomez recently debuted her “Round and Round” music video, is acting in Ramona and Beezus in theaters July 23, and just wrapped up filming of Monte Carlo. So she has been a busy bee.
When she returns to the set of Wizards, the season filmed will be her last. Gomez said, “Unfortunately, I’m doing my last season of my show, which I’m really heartbroken about,” the actress told us. “That’s gonna be a terrible time for me. I’m gonna do a movie for my show, which I’ll be excited to end it with, and then a tour.” Wizards centers on the Italian-Mexican Russo family as their children become wizards in training.
